The Bat, Rabid Bat, and Giant Bat are species of monsters randomly battled in Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. These monsters, resembling tiny segmented bats, are palette-swapped variants of each other that have differing levels of power and defense and are fought in different locations in the games. In Golden Sun there are two versions of the Bat enemy, one seen in prologue sequences and one seen afterwards in the overworld.

Bat (Prologue)

Bat

A Bat is a violet variant with a turquoise underbelly. Statistically, this monster has 17 HP, 21 Attack, 6 Defense, 13 Agility, and 3 Luck. In terms of resistance, it has a Venus Resistance rating of 127, a Mercury Resistance rating of 72, a Mars Resistance rating of 48, and a Jupiter Resistance rating of 7.

This first version of the Bat uses this single battle command:

  • Attack: Used 8 out of 8 times, this is this monster's standard physical attack.

Felling this earlier version of the Bat yields 1 single Experience Point and 1 single Coin, and there is a 1/32 chance that the monster will randomly drop an Herb. This Bat appears during Golden Sun's prologue sequence in Vale, then throughout the introductory dungeon, Sol Sanctum.
