Iceberg Outpost (流氷島, Ice Island) is a location in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. It is located far west of Harun Village, beyond the Lost Ship.

Story[]

After the start of the Grave EclipseRyu KouHou Ju, and Hou Zan manage to escape on a Sanan ship. During the ensuing storm, the ship crashes near a small outpost, though Ryu Kou, Hou Ju, and Hou Zan survive. The three take refuge in a small room in the house. Monsters empowered by the Grave Eclipse attack, but Hou Zan is able to fend them off with his martial arts skills. However, he only wounds one, and is fatally injured.

Later on, Matthew and his party of Adepts track the three Sanans down by following the signal from an Echo Gem in Hou Ju's possession, which reacts to an identical gem taken by Matthew from Tonfon. They initially find the sunken ship, but discover that the ship's crew has died. After exploring the nearby house, the Adepts find Ryu Kou and Hou Ju hovering over Hou Zan. After recounting the groups adventures, Hou Zan dies of his injuries, and is buried just outside the house, with Hou Ju's Echo Gem serving as a grave marker. After obtaining the Umbra Map needed for their quest, Matthew's party escorts Ryu Kou and Hou Ju back to Tonfon.

Walkthrough[]

Go in the house and push the log right, then the other one down. You can now push the dresser out of the way so you can enter the door. Once you go through the door, a cut scene will start involving Ryu Kou and Hou Zan.

Near the end of the cutscene, Kraden will ask Ryu Kou for the Umbra Map, which he will hand over. Hou Zan will also be buried outside, with Hou Ju's Echo Gem as a grave marker.

Head to the left and climb up the tree so you can jump to the plant. Use Growth on it to continue. Climb up the right tree here and grab yourself over to the left to get the Mythril Silver from the chest. Now get back down and move around that chunk of land to get onto the roof. You can slide down here to grab the Mercury Djinni Rime. You can also find some Lucky Pepper too if you use the nearby tree to get up a level and check the box. We need to go around and get back on the roof, though, but this time jump down into the chimney. Here you can open the chest for a Minerva Helm. Push the log up and then right to get out.

Upon leaving, the team will talk about the Umbra Map, with Karis marking several places for us to visit. Rief will remind us about taking Ryu Kou back to Tonfon, though.
