A Planet Armor is an Armor-class piece of armor found in Golden Sun: The Lost Age and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

Basic Description by Game

The Planet Armor increases base Defense by 36. In addition, it increases the equipped Adept's power ratings for all four elements by 10 each. It can be bought for 4800 coins and sold for 3600 coins.

In The Lost Age, Planet Armor is obtained by bringing a Star Dust forgeable item to Sunshine the blacksmith in Yallam, where he will randomly forge it into that or several other items, and then buying it from him. As an Armor-class item, it is equippable by the warrior-style Adepts Felix, Piers, Isaac, and Garet.

In Dark Dawn, the Planet Armor is now a singular Artifact found in a chest in Port Rago's docks, and can be equipped by Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo.

Analysis

In The Lost Age, this is one of the better pieces of equipment to forge from one's first Star Dust, the other being the Luna Shield. Better armor is not available until Gaia Rock is cleared, and the boost to elemental power of all four types is a versatile bonus that any class benefits from, particularly the tri-elemental and item-dependent classes. As such, choosing the Planet Armor or Luna Shield is a matter of personal preference.

In Dark Dawn, the Planet Armor remains a useful piece of equipment. By the time it is available, the player will have enough Djinn to access the tri-elemental classes. The Planet Armor provides a useful boost to Power that is useful for the upcoming boss battles against Sludge and the Mountain Roc. It will generally remain in the player's possession until they get the Ship, at which time stronger forgeable armor and Artifact armor become available.
