A Ruffian is an enemy encountered during scripted battles in the prologue sequence to Golden Sun: The Lost Age. He is a thug from Lalivero who joins other ruffians and soldiers from the Tolbi military in confronting Jenna at Venus Lighthouse.
Statistically, this enemy has 29 HP, 24 Attack, 6 Defense, 11 Agility, and 3 Luck. In terms of resistance, it has a Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Mercury Resistance rating of 100 each.
A Ruffian can use this single battle command:
- Attack: Used 8 out of 8 times, this is this monster's standard physical attack.
Felling a Ruffian yields 5 EXP, 5 coins, and there is a chance that the enemy will randomly drop an Herb. These enemies only appear during a series of scripted battles outside Venus Lighthouse and in Suhalla Gate, which makes them the first enemy the player ever battles in the second game.
The Ruffian is more of a of a "tutorial" enemy, an extremely easy and weak enemy in general. The only possibly weaker monster is the Punch Ant.
