The Silver Greave is a pair of Boots introduced in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
Battle Description[]
Unlike most Boots, they can only be equipped by warrior-style party members: Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo. The Silver Greave is an Artifact sold from the armor vendor in Tonfon for 3800 coins, and it can be sold for 2850.
In battle[]
The Silver Greave increases the wearer's base Defense by 22 and base Luck by 4.
Since every Luck point counts in the Golden Sun series, the Silver Greave is valuable for reducing the likelihood of being afflicted with negative status conditions. It also offers a higher Defense boost than any other Boots in Dark Dawn, arguably making them even better protection than the Knight's Greave. Like the Knight's Greave, however, the fact that the Silver Greave can only be equipped less than half the party limits their usefulness.
Trivia[]
- Although it wasn't officially introduced until Dark Dawn, the Silver Greave was coded into Golden Sun: The Lost Age, although it couldn't be accessed without a hacking device. It is plausible that the Silver Greave, along with the Ninja Sandals and the Knight's Greave, were meant to be new prizes at the Lucky Wheels minigame, but were removed in favor of the first game's prizes. In The Lost Age, the Silver Greave offered Defense +11 (half the Defense boost it does in Dark Dawn - the Luck rating hasn't changed). Also, the Silver Greave could be equipped by any party member rather than being limited to Warriors.
